Poker is a card game where players try to make the best five-card hand out of the cards they have been dealt. A player’s hand is usually determined after a series of betting intervals and a showdown, where the cards are revealed to all players and the person with the highest hand wins the pot.

Unlike in many other games, in poker you can raise to increase your chips in the pot without affecting your opponents’ hands.
