New England Grows

MATERIAL DONATIONS

By the Industry. FOR the Industry.

Technical High School Horticulture Programs
The sponsors and co-sponsors of New England Grows have formed a strong alliance with the horticulture students at the six (6) Technical High Schools in Massachusetts.  In addition to the day-to-day support the students receive from members of the green industry, exhibitors from New England Grows have been generous in their support of the program with donations of plant material from the show.

Donations are used in a variety of ways - students and their instructors use the material for their:

•Annual display at the New England Spring Flower Show

                     •Classroom Instruction on Horticultural Identification

•Field Instruction on Proper Planting & Transplanting Techniques

•Work on Landscape Projects at Low Income Housing Complexes

•Fundraising through Sales at student run Garden Centers

If you are interested in donating material to the schools for use in their successful horticulture programs, please plan ahead.  At the exposition, you will want to go to the Exhibitor Service Center, where you will be provided with tagging tape to mark your donations.  Except for clearly marked donations, no material may be left behind in exhibit booths.  If material is found remaining in your booth, a significant charge will be made to the exhibitor for clean up provided by union personnel.

Exhibiting companies leaving items at the end of the show that are not clearly marked and usable as a horticultural student donation will be charged an hourly labor removal fee of $91.25 ST/$136.88 OT with a 2 hour minimum.  Additional facility charges may also apply:  $800.00 Dumpster Charge, $25.00/hour cleaners (2 hour minimum)

Please be sure that your donation makes sense...the students are in need of material that can be used in the projects mentioned above.

Thank you for your support of this program.
